I love the Sailboat top, skirt + pants sewing pattern by oliver+s. Here is the skirt, inside out, awaiting labels. This little skirt (with elastic back and kick pleat) will be available in my etsy shop once I work out label placement and finish the shirt options. (For hints of fabric choices for the shirts, look to the left of the skirt above and on either side below.)

 So many labels! I'm reminded of "Baa Baa Black Sheep" ...one for the master, one for the dame, and one for the little boy who lives down the lane. Inside BeeBabyMine garments you'll find a woven Damask label with the bee baby, a fabric content + 'made in the USA' label (not shown). A pop of color comes from the printed satin ribbon for oliver+s (love). I also tuck in a care label. O! and the size tab. 

Baby doesn't want labels.

So I place them where they will be out of the way.

(Or they can be removed once you get them home.)

This set sized 12-18 months.

When my friend told me her new granddaughter had arrived, I set about sewing a little blouse. I wanted a gentle, old-fashioned feeling for this garment.

 I chose the Family Reunion pattern from oliver + s, my favorite patterns for babies and children. Very tiny white leaves appear in an overall pattern on off-white cotton fabric.

 Dusty pink flower buttons imported from Spain provide closure down the back while tiny pink vintage buttons add charming detail in front.

All to welcome a precious little girl and celebrate her birth!

button. blues.

The shirt is ready! It is view B of Sketchbook by oliver+s, made up in crisp seersucker. You may recall sailboat buttons. I made the buttonholes too small for those buttons. Thus, the blues. Seamstress blues. Followed by a search for different buttons. Now it looks like these buttons were made for this shirt!

The pocket bears a gentle little monogram for a sweet little boy.

Early reviewers are all smiles. My sister calls it "such a serious little shirt" in her loving way.

 Seersucker looks right at home for this pattern. I can hardly wait to see it on!

I'm off on vacation tomorrow ~ back in a week!
